My Story...

My name is Faye-Marie Weighall and I am a teacher, living and working in Birmingham, England. I have always had a passion for travelling and immersing myself in to different cultures. Last summer I travelled to an area of the world where people lived by traditional values, had the simplest of lives, yet regardless of the overwhelming poverty and devastation of war, they were some of the most happiest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

I embarked on the Indochina trail, venturing from Laos, through Vietnam and on to Cambodia. It was here that I met the Khmer people along with my now good friend Wath Saw. I endeavored to return to Cambodia to help the people of Siem Reap to lift themselves out of poverty.

Cambodia: Supporting the Villagers

I will be working side by side with the villagers of Siem Reap. The money you donate will help to build the future for Cambodian villages.

Whilst completing the programme I will be:

  • Teaching English in a local School.

  • Building brand new homes for families in need.

  • Assisting in delivering life enhancing skills to disadvantaged and rural children and orphans.

I will also be completing an extension programme at an elephant refuge which provides a home for displaced, mistreated or unemployed elephants.
